Andrew "A.J." Baker, 29, was arrested on Saturday, May 13 in Lynnfield for driving under the influence, according to Massachusetts State Police.
Peabody police followed and pulled over a Volkswagen Jetta on Route 95 South near Walnut Street in Lynnfield after another driver reported seeing the vehicle moving "erratically."
The Jetta drove onto the highway from Route 114 while police followed.
Police pulled the Jetta over and called a Massachusetts State trooper to the scene around 8:15 p.m.
Both Peabody police and the trooper detected signs that Andrew was intoxicated.
Andrew failed multiple field sobriety tests administered by the state trooper, and was arrested based on the results of the tests, his statements, and the trooper's observations.
He was charged with OUI for liquor and was booked at the State Police-Danvers Barracks.
Andrew, of South Boston, is one three children Charlie Baker has with his wife Laura. He has previously been accused of groping a woman on a JetBlue flight, according to CBS.
A bail clerk was contacted and Andrew was released on personal recognize with a $40 bail fee. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Peabody District Court at a yet-to-be-announced date.
Peabody Police are not seeking any criminal complaints, according to a spokesperson for the department.
Charlie Baker served as the governor of Massachusetts for eight years, from January 2015 to January 2023.
